Sleeps four, sand at door. My one bedroom condo is ground level on the sand in Indian Rocks Beach. IRB is located on the 20 mile long barrier island that runs Tampa airport and 17 miles from the Clearwater/St. Pete airport. "Old Florida” is the term used to describe a slow paced, no high rise, community approach to natural resources. Our 8 unit building is a fine example of 50’s FL, that retains it convenience and charm along with comfortable up dates. Walk out the door onto the beach. You will not have to deal with elevators and parking garages. You may meet your neighbors and maybe make new friends or enjoy the solitude of a private spot. Indian Rocks Beach is small town America. There is a museum, park and gazebo. You can walk between the intercoastal and the coast. There is a trolley that runs the length of the island. 2012 Rates: Shack on the Sand (Unit 3) and Stacked Shack (Unit 6) Based on Saturday to Saturday rental for two people Check In: 2:00PM Check Out: 9:30AM Required Stay: 7 days Saturday to Saturday preferred (Special rates Saturday-Saturday for 2) Returning Guests Discount Area Taxes equal 12%;Cleaning Fee $80 Method of Payment: Cash/Check |

About Your Host Ann Wilson has owned the "Shack" since 1992. It is an integral part of her life. She is a retired speech therapist and writer who lives nearby with her small poodle Fritzy. Be sure to read a story from her book Butterfly Brides located under the tab labeled Ann’s Book. This condo is truly a "by owner" rental. It has been tenderly loved and cared for. Ann has called it the "Shack on the Sand" since 1996. She wanted people to know that it was not a high rise and was very close to nature. The "Shack" contains enough dishes, pots, pans, linen, books and surprises to make your stay comfortable. You are encouraged to go through cupboards and drawers. The chances are great that you will find what you need, If not, call Ann and see if she knows where it is. If a guest breaks something they usually repair or replace it themselves. As far as regular maintenance is concerned, in the 20 years that Ann has owned the "Shack" everything has been replaced at least once including floors, doors and windows. The second round of appliance replacement is in progress. Of course couches, tables and beds are always coming and going. This little place is used by family and friends and you will be welcome also. There is no security deposit, because in 16 years guests have respected the little condo and have taken great care. Welcome to Shack on the Sand! |
